We all known personality of Kannada filmdom KSL Swamee veteran director, actor and eloquent speaker flashbacks presentation is in interesting style. At Nehru Playground at Hubli KSL he went to 7o’s of cricket match with stars of Kannada and Hindi cinema mixed cricket match that generated Rs.6 lakhs for a benevolent fund. In those days Dilipkumar scored 25 runs in the benefit match.

On yesterday night KSL Swamee at ‘Mandhahasa’ at fashion show, perfume launch and media briefing of the film he was sitting at one corner with a few journalists friends. When he saw the colorful event he immediately asked how this is going to support the film and recalled the days of shooting of ‘Gandhinagara’ Kannada cinema.

‘Gandhinagara’ directed by KSL Swamee in 1968 for Vijayavardhan Movies starred Dr Rajakumar, Kalpana, Narasimharaju, Dinesh, BV Radha, Dwarakish and others.

Dr Rajakumar was to play poor peddler of Rickshaw. Director Swamee suggested that the scene of rickshaw peddling should be very natural. Dr Rajakumar was given a ‘Chaddi’ (half pant). Dr Rajakumar was not astonished but others on the sets were astonished because of the presence of mind of ‘Rajanna’.

Knowing the good quality ironed ‘Chaddi’ Dr Rajakumar looked up at the light boys who were sitting to beam the lights. He asked one of the light boys to get down. Dr Raj urged the light boy to remove his ‘Chaddi’ and wear this new one. Light boy was surprised but he obliged. Dr Raj without any delay wore the light boy dirty ‘Chaddi’ and said he is ready for the shot. Director Swamee was even more surprised for the natural feel Dr Rajakumar brought in to the shot.

Can the stars today use such exemplary simplicity of Dr Rajakumar? KSL Swamee asked the journalist friends. Swamee has several such anecdotes that open up the present generation eyes. I cannot write is the complaint from my side says Swamee.
